OUR HISTORY

Off Broadway is Boston University’s premier community service choir. Known colloquially as OBOB (On Broadway's Off Broadway), this group was founded with the mission of bringing the joy of music and musical theatre to the greater Boston community. OBOB brings light to the students in its membership as well as the community organizations it visits.

Created in 2011 by two theatre-loving students, Sarah Jill and Tanner Knorr, OBOB has upheld its reputation as a home for students who want to give back to their community through song. Performing at nursing homes, community centers, and around campus, OBOB is a traveling, passionate band of people who seek to share their talents with others. Reflecting the diversity of Boston University, our members come from all over the world and are studying a variety of subjects. OBOB meets on campus to rehearse weekly, then brings the fun, laughter, and song to establishments around the community.
